“Unusual outrageous costumes and an environment full of colors and glitz everywhere”, what comes in mind? Yes, the real pop icon Cher is striking the stage with her lavishing performance and an outstanding singing. She may be 63 years old, but still the pop diva can take you to the heaven by her performances. It takes only 90 minutes for the brilliant pop icon to set the stage on fire. Las Vegas ‘very own Colosseum at Caesars Palace is known for its extravagant memories of several achievements.
From 1979 to the year 1982, the pop sensation has played several solos at Caesars Palace. Thus, this event is going to be a home coming event for her and it will be a larger than life show for her fans. While talking about her performances you can’t really forget her sparkling entrance through rafters, flying on the stage with a huge feathered dress. She called it “the Flying Wallenda Evel Knievel Deathmobile”.
So, get ready to witness the reinvention of pop music once again at Colosseum with Cher. The dazzling costumes by Bob Mackie and a brilliant choreography by Doriana Sanchez is something, which you are not going to miss, right? The show will recollect the magic she has been creating since four decades of her magnificent career. Her extraordinary success has set several benchmarks in the world of pop music. The music diva has sold over hundred millions records through out her career.
She debuted as a solo artist in the year of 1964, since then no turning back for this great star. In 1969, she with her ex-husband Late Sonny Bono played the Flamingo as the opening act for Pat Boone. They played the Sahara during the period of 1970s.
The show begins with the awakening memories of “The Cher and Sonny Show” followed by several manifesting favorites of her fans such as “I Found someone” or the “Love is a Battlefield”. The endearing collection will make the audience believe that in spite of her age she is still that old “Cher”.
People knows Mackie with a nickname, “Sultan of Sequins” because of his lavishing and beautiful costumes and wigs which changes for Cher and every Single dancers with every number being played. Around 140 costumes changes during the concert and with Cher changing it with the help of assistants in no more than two minutes. During this time, the audience can enjoy the footage of Sonny and Cher performances, the immortal clips from the famous TV show by the duo and the clips from the films acted by Cher and all these are projected in a huge LCD screen set on the stage. The HD screen is 34 foot tall and 109 foot in width.
There are several highlights of the show, among which one of the most special one is the magnificent set colored in Black and White with black and white costumes along with records from early black and white clips of Sonny and Cher and photos, during the performance of the hit number “The Beat Goes On”. After that, Cher makes the audience feel her closet collections which according t her is “Grand Canyon with clothes in it”.
The show hits the stage with its opening act “Half Breed”. Cher appears in a Native American outfit with a complete headdress, followed by colorful Gypsy dresses for “Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves”. “Don’t Leave Me This Way” was a hit from 70s accompanied by disco ball at the stage and catchable lighting everywhere. The duet of “I Got You Babe” with a video of Sonny and many other super hits like “The “Strong Enough” and “If I Could Turn Back Time” are played.
A huge five-piece band and a group of 18 brilliant dancers add to the glam of the concert. Save the best for the last! Yes, the show ends with the mega song “Believe” leaving you in a heaven of music.
